3249>Why/Why not?
Thanks for answering! 鈾||False.
Bacteria breed in food that is not stored properly.
Viruses need a living host cell to reproduce.
Reply:false
viruses utilize other cell's mechanics to replicate, they have no protiens for replication themselves.
Reply:That depends, a virus certainly can be passed on by tainted food. This is how, for example, the virus for Hepatitis A is passed. But technically in storage a virus requires a living host in order to replicate. The drug companies actually use live chicken eggs in an incubator to grow virons for vaccines. A bacteria, on the other hand, will do just fine on stored food and the examples are numerous. A fungus will also be very happy on old or poorly stored food. Moldy bread, or moldy oranges comes to mind for an example.
