3348>A computer virus is just a program that is made to "replicate" itself, or basically spread on its own witout having to be sent by someone eacha nd every time. Most viruses in todays world oare either ad-ware or spy-ware. They're made to steal financial information (such as credit card numbers or bank account numbers) or they just cause all those annoying pop-ups and the ad-ware maker is payed by the companies being advertized for forcing the advertisements onto peoples computers.
Reply:I don't think people pay others to make a virus for them. It's usually the hacker themselves that creates the virus and unleashes it to the cyber world. I don't believe it's a type of revenge, I believe it's a type of psychological contentment that goes like this "I wonder how many million people I can piss off today"
