I am actually running adaware on my other computer right now. I was getting alot of pop-ups. It's only half way done and has found over 450 infections!





I suggest using them both. Adaware mostly searches for adware. Spybot will find viruses and keyloggers. They both will allow you to quarantine your computer from ever being infected with any virus or spyware on their list.
Reply:People hear are suggesting AVG. I used to have AVG. It is an excellent program for keeping them nasty virus' away. Our school used to have AVG as well. Then they switched to a program called Panda Antivirus. I wasn't sure why, but I figured if an entire school switched every computer from AVG to Panda, there must be a reason. So I downloaded it and installed it. Nearly immediately, I realized the reasoning behind the change: panda was quick and didn't limit the computer much. AVG can really suck your resources down and negatively effect your computer. Panda runs nicely in the background and barely limits your computers performance. You can download it at "pandasecurity.com" or can get it off Limewire or some other P2P/torrent program with a keygen for free updates. Enjoy!

Reply:I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following linkhttp://www.computeractive.co.uk/. On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
