2515>I have one on my computer like a couple of weeks ago. the internet explorer doesnt work but i can like get on aim, dl music from limewire and etc. but just cant use the internet thing. any suggestion on howing to fix it without having to go to one of them computer pro fixer.?
Reply:msconfig in the run box, startup tab, uncheck anything suspicious and reboot. I assume you don't have an antivirus, or you would have done a system scan. Have a friend burn Spybot S%26amp;D onto a disc it's a free download.
Reply:try system restore if you have xp also try to reboot your modem when and if you do get your internet back workin download avg by grisoft its free and it works wonderfully

also try using the firefox browser, its a lot safer than the internet explorer
Reply:First off ditch norton or whatever preinstalled and probably expired antivirus software you have. Install a free one like Avast! http://avast.com . Update that and let it do a full scan. Also go to http://www.safer-networking.org/ and get Spybot S%26amp;D, update and run a full scan with that and make sure to immunize.
Use Firefox for all your internet browsing, install addons like adblock plus to help you out even more. Keep avast up to date and it will scan all your incoming attachments and should help keep your comptuer virus free.
