How do i get rid of my viruses??

2584>I use Firefox but i keep getting popups from internet explorer. they start as one thing and then redirect to some ebay page. My VirusScan messages popped up and says "Move failed(clean failed)." Im sure its from the internet because my virus scanner says that its in my 'temporary internet files' folder. Its trojans detected as Vundo. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?
Reply:Are you able to log on your computer from safe mode. Then bring up your Virus software and you should be able to remove it.

Reply:First, if your anti-virus detected something but couldn't delete it, try running it again in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents the malware from running and protecting itself.

Second, anti-virus packages don't always work well against adware (which is what you have) and spyware. I suggest you download Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S%26amp;D (they鈥檙e free), install them, update them and run them. If they don鈥檛 seem to be able to get rid of everything they report finding, try running it again, also in Safe Mode.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.

2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.

4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. Log in as Administrator. Administrator often has no password.

5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Update and run them all regularly.

Good luck.
Reply:You didn't mention what anti-virus you have. but i have used avg, avast, avira, panda, kapersky, norton and macaffe and i am the most pleased with nod32 its a very small download but its unbelieveable with detection rates and ease of use.
Reply:You have some real awkward infections so I suggest you download a Smitfraud removal program from:

If possible run in Safe Mode.

And VundoFix:

Also try http://www.superantispyware.com/

SuperAntiSpyware is exceptional and will remove the majority of difficult Trojans and Worms, not just the easy ones.

Reply:Here is a link to symantec's Vundo removal tool (http://www.symantec.com/security_respons... click on the link, or copy and paste in your web browser to get to the link. Download the removal tool, and save it to your desktop (so that it is easy to find). When it is done downloading, close all programs and disconnect from the internet. Then run the removal tool. When the tool is done, reboot the pc and run it again to make sure that all is clean. When all is clean, I would suggest that you also run windows update and install all of the critical updates. Also make sure that you have an up to date anti-virus program AND make sure that you set to automatically update the virus defs or make sure that you update frequently - at least once a week.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays.
