3293>hi,
Windows is believed to be a poor imitation of Mac OS.The security that is being incorporated into Vista has been in OS X for quite a long time. The OS X has some cool secuity features .Check out this link its quite interesting.

Reply:no because there arent enough macs out there to make a virus for, there are so many pc's that the spamers and stuff only worry about them. Thats why macs are a good investment, it'll just take a while to learn how to use it.
Reply:They can, but the majority of virus makers pick on Windows.
Reply:If you are talking about the program, of course, but you just need to take care of your laptop/computer to prevent viruses.
Any program can catch a virus.
Reply:if it's a Macintosh
Reply:Yes, they do. Many hackers pick Windows except me.
Reply:I had an apple with a worm in it once...does this count?
Reply:They could, but it's very rare, if there are any out there. ANYWHERE. It's just as possible as it is for Windows to get a virus.
But since Macs aren't used near as much as Windows, virus/worm writers target Windows instead. Windows is run on the majority of the world's computers. And a lot of Web Servers run Windows, so it's a good target for the writers. They'll get a MUCH bigger "satisfaction", if you will, when writing a self-replicating virus/worm for Windows, because it will be all over the place. If they wrote one for Macs, or Linux, or something else, they wouldn't hear about it very much.
Reply:Apples do get viruses and are affected by spyware too. More people target Windows because it is the bigger crowd and quite frankly more people really hate Bill Gates!!!! Mac OSX is based on UNIX and has a far better kernel structure than Windows. But as is true with many thing the technically Superior product does not always win out!!
